‘Glee’s’ Kurt & Rachel Cast Themselves As ‘Sex And The City’ Characters

Lea Michele thinks her teenage “Glee” character, Rachel Berry, is just like one of “Sex and The City’s” Fab Four, when one of the ladies was back in high school.

“Rachel is definitely Charlotte York from ‘Sex and The City,’ like 30 years ago,” the actress told Access Hollywood on the red carpet at the “Glee 3-D Concert” movie premiere in Los Angeles on Saturday. “That’s what I see her as.”

Chris Colfer, who plays stylish and sassy teen Kurt Hummel on “Glee,” said his character is definitely the sexy “Samantha” Jones, he told Access.

“No, I think you would be Carrie,” Lea chimed in.

“Carrie?!?” Chris guffawed. “I’d rather be Samantha!”

Beyond their “SATC” comparisons, FOX President of Entertainment Kevin Reilly revealed at the Television Critics Association session last week that the show, in Season 3, would go “back to basics,” as at least three of the gang head toward graduation.

“I just want this year to be amazing and I’m approaching this year the way I’m approaching every year,” Lea told Access on Saturday about the upcoming season. “I feel like so many people are focusing on, you know, an end, what’s next and you know I’m just like, ‘Wait a minute, we have 22 episodes to film.’

“Whatever the future holds, as long as I can be with these guys and [be] playing a character I love then I’m like the happiest girl in the world,” she added.

“Glee” returns to FOX on September 20 at 8 PM.
