Golden Globes: 4 Things We’re Looking Forward To

The 71st Golden Globes are Sunday and we’re excited about the show for many reasons – namely, the fashion, the jokes, and watching the casts of our favorite films and shows possibly entertainingly-tipsy and ready to celebrate!

Here are four things AccessHollywood.com is especially looking forward to come Sunday:

The Return Of Tina & Amy: Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted the star-studded HFPA event for the first time last year and the talented friends/actresses/former “Saturday Night Live” co-stars earned rave reviews. We can’t wait to see which stars the gals lampoon this year and who they’ll charm in the audience (remember Amy sitting on George Clooney’s lap?!) Another “SNL” alum, Andy Samberg, will be on hand for evening, as he’s nominated for an award for “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” Perhaps we’ll see a Tina/Amy/Andy performance? We can hope.

“OITNB” & “Scandal’s” Leading Ladies Face Off: We are thrilled that both Taylor Schilling, star of Netflix’s “Orange is The New Black,” and Kerry Washington, star of ABC’s “Scandal,” are nominated for Best Actress in a TV drama series. We are so excited that these two shows were recognized and can’t wait to see if one of these beautiful and deserving ladies takes home the trophy! (Honorable mention for “The Good Wife’s” Julianna Margulies, who is categorically excellent in her role as Alicia Florrick, and is nominated for the fourth time for her work on the CBS drama.)

“Breaking Bad’s” Last Hurrah: Heisenberg and Jesse Pinkman live on! Well, at least for three hours on Sunday. The AMC drama, which ended its five-season run last year, is nominated for best TV drama series, and Bryan Cranston, is nominated for Best Actor in a TV drama. As it’s “Breaking Bad’s” last chance to take home a Globe, we’re rooting for Walter White and co. to win big.

Most Memorable Speech: At last year’s Globes (while accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award), Jodie Foster kept the audience riveted – speaking more openly about her sexuality than ever before – in a speech that made headlines for weeks. Who will give this year’s most memorable speech? We also wouldn’t be disappointed if a winner takes a page from the Merritt Wever’s Emmy Award acceptance playbook, delivering a hilariously surprising 9-second thank you before exiting the stage.

The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards will air live on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at 8 PM ET and 5 PM PT on NBC.
