Grammy Nominee KT Tunstall Owes A Lot To Katharine McPhee

KT Tunstall hates reality TV and loves reality TV. She admits she’s never been polite about how she feels about shows like that.

On the other hand, there’s Katharine McPhee, who did a rendition of Tunstall’s song “Black Horse and the Cherry Tree” and introduced her music to millions.

Tunstall says when McPhee sang that song, “Black Horse” was an underground song that less than one percent of Americans knew about. After McPhee sang it, it exploded in popularity.

Tunstall says people showed up to her concerts saying, “I heard Katharine McPhee play your song and I love your album and your gig was amazing.”

Tunstall says she recently was at a photo shoot with Justin Timberlake and Mary J. Blige thinking, “I was unemployed like five years ago.”
