Gwyneth Paltrow Blasted By Cindy McCain As ‘A Joke’

Gwyneth Paltrow’s words have gotten her in hot water, once again.

Earlier this week, while speaking at a tech conference for Re/Code, the Oscar winner compared being the subject of hateful words online to the experience of a soldier at war.

“It’s almost like how, in war, you go through this bloody, dehumanizing thing, and then something is defined out of it,” Gwyneth told the audience, when asked what it was like to be the subject of Internet bullying.

Among those taking exception to the Goop guru’s comments are Cindy McCain, wife of war veteran/U.S. Senator John McCain.

“Gweneth [sic] Paltrow is a joke. Her life is like taking bullets for a soldier. What a joke! My 2 sons serving in the military should talk to her,” Cindy wrote on Twitter.

“Perhaps Gweneth [sic] Paltrow should go out on patrol with some soldiers. Kind of like a Red Carpet in her mind I guess!” she added.

Whether it’s John McCain’s wife or someone else who wants to take issue with the actress, Gwyneth also said at the conference that she is able to deflect the less-than-friendly words she reads about herself.

“I see myself as a chalkboard or a whiteboard or a screen, and someone is just putting up their own projection on it,” Gwyneth added. “You’re talking about a blind stranger having feelings about you. It can only be projection.”

Earlier this month, Gwyneth came under fire after comparing the life of an actress to that of a 9 to 5 working mom.
