At 37, Gwyneth Paltrow graces the August cover of Vogue’s Age Issue – and the star told the mag she’s happy to be in her thirties.
“My twenties were a great time in my life, I wouldn’t change them for anything,” Gwyneth told the mag in a video interview. “But in my thirties, I feel I really know who I am – I’ve made huge mistakes, I’ve learned from them, I’ve had children and I feel much more comfortable at this age now than in my twenties. They were fun, but I wouldn’t go back there for anything.”
While she’s still best known for her acting work – she starred in this summer’s blockbuster “Iron Man 2” – Gwyneth has earned a following for her online lifestyle newsletter, GOOP, and will further show off her kitchen skills with a new cookbook, the upcoming “My Father’s Daughter,” which pays tribute to her late father, Bruce Paltrow, who passed away in 2002.
Vogue writer Jeffrey Steingarten cooked with the star, discovering that she wields impressively sharp knives and owns outdoor pizza ovens in her London and Long Island backyards – “the mark of her seriousness as a cook.”
The mag also called her “extremely adept at kneading” pizza dough.
Gwyneth told the mag her domestic side has blossomed in part thanks to her children with Coldplay rocker husband Chris Martin, Apple and Moses.
“I’ve been an actress for such a long time. It’s been so fulfilling and so amazing,” she said. “But I took a lot of time off to have children and I really discovered another side to myself. It was a very important time for me and I feel like it really rounded me out as a human being. I think it’s so important to mix things up and see things from a different perspective.
“Scare yourself and see what happens!” she advised, in true GOOP fashion.
