Will Smith, Jennifer Lopez, Paula Abdul and Paris Hilton were among the stars who hit the red carpet in Los Angeles for the premiere of Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” on Tuesday night.

Braving winds that started up earlier in the day, the glammed up stars, including David Cook, Adam Lambert and Katy Perry, packed the red carpet, all eager to see the movie made up of rehearsal footage from the tour that never was.

Harry Connick Jr. says he did the right thing by expressing his outrage at a blackface skit poking fun at the Jackson Five in Australia last week.

“I’m pleased with the way I handled the situation,” the 42-year-old American singer and actor told reporters Wednesday in Hong Kong, where he was promoting his new album “Your Songs.”

An Australian variety show host has apologized for a skit in which singers parodying the Jackson Five performed in blackface.

American singer and actor Harry Connick Jr., who was serving as a guest judge on Wednesday night’s “Hey Hey It’s Saturday,” was visibly shocked by the skit, in which four men with afro wigs and blackface sang and danced behind a Michael Jackson impersonator wearing white makeup.
