‘Harry Potter’s’ Daniel Radcliffe Chats About Tattoos, Going Shirtless & His Rumored Rivalry With Robert Pattinson

Despite an eight-figure salary and millions of fans, “Harry Potter’s” Daniel Radcliffe is seemingly quite humble!

The 21-year-old star was thrilled to hear of an audience’s recent reaction to his shirtless scene in the upcoming “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I.”

“I did hear from a friend that when I took my shirt off [in the film], there were some wolf-whistles [from the audience], which I was just delighted about!” Daniel told Access Hollywood correspondent Tim Vincent at the film’s junket in London. “I was really, really pleased!”

While many “Potter” fans may find Daniel’s modest reaction surprising, the actor said the catcalls were “amazing,” because he is “quite skinny and pale” – much like his fellow British big screen heartthrob, “Twilight’s” Robert Pattinson.

“I was saying to somebody the other day — someone was talking about this supposed rivalry between Rob Pattinson and I, and what’s awesome about this is, between the pair of us, we are striking a blow for the paler man,” Daniel told Tim.

“We are white as sheets, so it’s a comfort!” he laughed.

As for following in the “Lord Of The Ring’s” cast tattoo tradition, Daniel said that while he wouldn’t get inked with “Potter related” symbols, he’d consider some sort of group tattoo if his cast mates agreed.

“I suppose if everyone was doing it I’d probably [get a tattoo] as well,” Daniel told Tim. “We’d have to be very specific about the design because I’m not having a skull, or any glasses, or a broom, or a Hogwarts crest — nothing like that! It would have to be something a little bit more idiosyncratic than that.

“Rupert [Grint] said the other day that he’s going to get my face tattooed on him somewhere,” he laughed. “So maybe I’ll just get his face tattooed on me somewhere. We’ll do sort of a swap.”

Although Daniel may refuse to permanently etch any wizardry reminders onto his body, the star was sad to be leaving the beloved franchise behind.

“It was very, very sad,” Daniel told Tim, of shooting the last scene in the seven-film series. “We all broke down in tears. So did a lot of the crew because they’d been there for 10 years as well.

“It was a very strange sort of feeling, and felt kind of weirdly desolate at the moment,” he continued. “I was just like, ‘I’m gonna lose so much of this love that we all have for each other on a daily basis.’”

“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I” opens on November 19.

The final movie of the boy wizard series — “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II”– comes to theaters in July 2011.
