Has Kanye West Turned To Muhammad Ali For Guidance?

Kanye West has stepped out of the limelight after his much-mocked interruption of Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards earlier this year, but the star may be revealing his new inspiration through his blog.

In a series of posts now up to seven, Kanye has been posting photos and quotes from the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali — another star whose ego was as famous as his talents.

“My way of joking is to tell the truth. That’s the funniest joke in the world,” read a quote posted on Thursday.

The rapper’s blog has traditionally been split between posts on new clothes, design and movies and his often angry, all-caps personal entries; the Ali series is a new development.

On Wednesday, he posted a shot of Ali in the ring, head in his gloves, with the quote, “Silence is golden when you can’t think of a good answer.”

Kanye has had trouble himself addressing the aftermath of his interruption of Swift, who had just won the award for Best Female Video. In an appearance on “The Jay Leno Show” the next night, he was at a loss for words when questioned about the encounter. He subsequently pulled out of his planned headlining tour with Lady Gaga (which Gaga dubbed a mutual decision) and has even been rumored to have gone to India for spiritual guidance.
