Healthy Hollywood: Drink Up Like A Celeb!

“I love Zico coconut water because it’s extremely hydrating and has more potassium than a banana. I especially like to drink it after a workout,” Molly Sims tells us about her latest health kick – coconut water.

She, along with fit ‘n hip celebs such as Gisele Bundchen and Courteney Cox, are all cracking open the benefits of this low cal, vitamin-rich energy drink.

“It’s a great alternative to sugar-heavy sports drinks,” reveals nutritionist Keri Glassman, whose celebrity clients include Jennifer Lopez and Drew Barrymore. “Coconut water is chock full of good-for-you nutrients, such as electrolytes, which aid in muscle performance and help prevent cramping. It has the same amount of carbohydrates to boost energy as a sports drink, but no sugar. The nutrients come straight from the water of baby coconuts.”

Plus, coconut water’s naturally high dose of potassium helps fitness nuts recover, refuel, and get ready to hit the gym again!

Yet, there’s no need to sweat it out to enjoy the benefits of coconut water. For those, who’d rather sit ‘n sip their coconut water poolside, jump below for some yummy cooling recipes.
