Healthy Hollywood: Fab Food Friday – ‘Biggest Loser’ Olivia Ward’s Weight Loss Tips!

“Biggest Loser” champ Olivia Ward looks amazing!

The slimmed-down stunner shed nearly 130 pounds over 8 months, including five months of grueling workouts/diet at the ranch. Now, back at home with her hubby, Ben, (who lost over 100 pounds on his own) the New York opera singer is ready to begin a healthy new chapter in her life!

Healthy Hollywood met up with Olivia and her husband, Ben, at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City for a day of shopping.

“I mean to now have the opportunity to go into a store and see all of these beautiful clothes and know that if I wanted to I could fit into everything in the store – it’s absolutely amazing,” beams Olivia. “I forget, you know, that I have lost 129 pounds and things are going to fit me, you know I’m not that size 24 anymore.”

Olivia, 35, is absolutely stunning on the outside and inside and made this shopping trip a lot of fun – kind of similar to letting a kid go wild in the candy shop. Everything Olivia tried on (in an enviable size 4) looked tailor made and got me inspired to take off a few pounds. I got the skinny on how she lost the weight and more importantly how she is keeping it off. “I mean exercise is very important, but what you put in your mouth is the most important,” states Olivia.

The self-proclaimed food-grazer says she’s committed to tracking closely what she eats over the next year, or the pounds will pile back on due to her tendency to snack 24-7. Also, she’s careful not to indulge in high-calorie foods, adding, “just making better decisions and cooking more in my home and really trying to, you know, find ways to still satisfy my desire for the breakfast sandwich on a roll or whatever, but you know just finding healthier options instead.”

Olivia now sticks to a 3 meal and 2 snack a day eating plan. “I found at the ranch that you know it’s not necessary to eat a bunch of processed pre-packaged foods, that really you can eat very cheaply and quickly with whole foods – you know whole grains, fruits and vegetables, lean cuts of protein, egg whites – these things you can cook very quickly. If you eat in season, I mean you can really, really not only support your community but you can also do it fairly inexpensively,” Olivia reveals to Healthy Hollywood.

She also kicked her longtime addiction to diet sodas and even discovered a healthier way to have her sweets and stay skinny too. “You can have it for breakfast or a snack, it’s just the 0% Greek yogurt…[add in Stevia sweetener], one tablespoon of almond butter and a half of a small capful of organic maple extract, and you mix it up and it tastes like almond praline – something delicious. I eat that, you know, at least you know once every couple of days because it feels like a really big treat to me and it makes me feel I’m having like ice cream – it’s really, really good and you get a lot of protein and good fat in that snack.”

Sounds like Olivia is set on the road to be the biggest winner champ of healthy living. You go, girl!
