As a mother of four small children, “Dancing with the Stars” co-host Brooke Burke is one busy lady!
Besides her hectic work schedule and busy home life, the 39-year-old always looks fit and toned. How does she do it?
For starters, she’s against fad diets, adding, “I think it’s important to always maintain a healthy lifestyle. As part of my routine, I like to eat five smart, balanced small meals a day.”
Brooke’s typical menu, includes foods like a “protein shake in the morning, lots of sushi, Bill Phillips protein bar, yogurt, fish, chicken, lean beef, and lots of salad veggies.”
The “DWTS” sensation is careful not to starve her body. “Eat more frequent (low carb) meals throughout the day and lots of cardio activities.” She also suggests working out with a Baboosh body, which is a core wrap Brooke created and is made out of nylon and neoprene. The snug-fitting wrap reportedly promotes intense sweating and takes inches off your waist.
Brooke is also keen on passing her healthy eating habits to her kids. “Teaching my kids early eating habits, going grocery shopping together, spending time in the kitchen and educating them in a really fun way about food. I think the biggest secret is to start teaching them about food at young age,” Brooke also suggests, “I teach my kids to eat the colors of the rainbow – eating simple fresh fruits and vegetables are really important. Some of their favorite foods include edamame, yogurt, berries, nuts and breakfast bars.”
To promote a healthier lifestyle and empower kids to take care of themselves, Brooke has teamed up with Oral-B. The toothbrush company is offering 50 percent off select Premium Power brushes and will donate $25,000 to Operation Smile, which is a worldwide charity that provides free surgeries for children with cleft palates. An awesome cause! Brooke, a former model, knows the importance of a good smile, and makes sure her four kids brush up.
“We love to make it fun for the kids with electric toothbrushes and fun toothpaste,” adds Brooke.
