With her big smile, nonstop energy and menu of tasty dishes, Giada De Laurentiis is a force in the celebrity food world.
She’s got her Food Network show, her collection of recipe books and she’s the go-to source for many on party hosting tips.
Healthy Hollywood got a chance to catch up with Giada recently in New York City. She was here promoting her latest venture as a spokesperson for Clairol Natural Instincts hair color.
The star chef reveals she actually does color her hair at-home.
“It’s really a nice way to give your hair some shine and cover up any last minute grays you might have during the holidays. And I love using the conditioner that comes in the box - especially right before I know I have a big week of going out and I know I want my hair to be shiny, soft and feel really good. And since it has good-for-you ingredients you can feel good about coloring more regularly, which is especially great during the holidays.”
Just like some moms, Giada is busy juggling an active career with parenthood. She’s an expert at finding ways to get it all done yet keep her sanity intact.
“I try to find things that save me time and I think that one of the tricks is to be able to do as many things at home as possible only make appointments where you have to,” she reveals to Healthy Hollywood.
Giada likes to give friends homemade gifts, adding, “Last year I made Orangecello, my spin on the classic Sicilian/Neapolitan drink, Limencello. This year, I made fresh lasagna sheets and I gave them in a package with my Target tomato sauce, which I thought together creates a nice little gift.”
As for her biggest holiday purchase, Giada tells Healthy Hollywood it was making a big donation to the Red Cross for Sandy relief.
“I think it’s important to give back, and New York/New Jersey has been a big part of my life in the last 5 years. I spend a lot of time in New York and I have a lot of fans here who have been affected by it. So I felt that this year, that was going to be my big purchase,” she added.
