Healthy Hollywood: Fab Food Friday – Stars’ Heart Healthy Diet!

February is American Hearth month. To kick off Fashion Week on a heart healthy note, celebrities hit the runway for The Heart Truth Red Dress Fashion Show.

This annual runway walk hopes to bring attention to women and heart disease. Unfortunately, heart disease, including strokes, is the number one killer of women.

“Biggest Loser” coach Jillian Michaels, Kelly Osbourne, Olympic darling Gabby Douglas and NBC’s Savannah Guthrie were among the stars who strutted their stuff for this amazing cause.

Healthy Hollywood was on the sidelines and got the opportunity to ask some of the ladies how they keep their bodies diet heart-healthy.

Jillian Michaels:

“Remove foods that are bad for you. Trans fat, terrible for you. Get rid of it. Eat clean food with common sense. Get your Omega 3’s, your healthy fats, walnuts, almonds, olive oil, ocean caught fish.”

Savannah Guthrie:

“I try to keep a moderately healthy diet. I’m not a perfect person, so I’m sure I fall off the wagon from time to time. But, I also try to exercise regularly. I like to run. I’m always running outside in the summer months. I’ve been doing some yoga lately, which surprisingly is a good cardio workout. “

Jamie Chung:

“It’s all about moderation and a good balance. I generally like to eat healthy, like proteins and brown rice and vegetables. “

Gabby Douglas:

“My tip is to follow a great eating plan and stay active. I mean those are the most important things.”

Brenda Strong:

“Make sure you don’t smoke, eating more whole grains, whole food, make sure you exercise. Whether it’s yoga or cardio, or walking a half hour a day is something that could change your life.”
