Healthy Hollywood: Get Movin’ Monday – Jane Fonda’s Age-Defying Zen Moment!

Jane Fonda will be 75 years old at end of this month and she looks simply stunning.

Her body is toned, her complexion is glowing and she has lots of positive energy.

Healthy Hollywood was inspired to find out her secret. While, the iconic star joked with Healthy Hollywood it takes a lot of money and good genes to look like her, but she also recognizes that feeling good is an inside job.

“I think the most important thing comes from the inside and in that sense exercise and yoga, in particular, helps with that. If you feel good about yourself, if you feel good in your skin, in addition to having friends and love around you, it comes through in your eyes, your face and your smile,” she said.

So, true!

The Oscar-winning actress, who was known as the ‘80s queen of the fitness video, is back in the exercise biz. After a 15-year hiatus, she’s released a series of DVDs created for older people. Her latest DVD is “AM/PM Yoga For Beginners.”

“I thought who better than me to start creating programs for baby boomers or people who are unfit or have never worked out before. So I did 4 of them, that were both strength, using weights and also aerobic and the missing link was yoga. Yoga is very important as an overall, for an overall healthy body and healthy mind,” she added.

Jane hopes to teach folks to build strength, improve flexibility and relax the body with this yoga program, which has 3 workouts for the morning and 2 for the evening.

“I go to great pains to remind people to be present in your body because you can do yoga and be thinking about your grocery list. And, it’ll be good and will make you more flexible and so forth, but to really get the full benefit from yoga, you have to be present. You have to be intentional, you have to be with your breath in your body and when you do that it not only affects your body, but it affects your mind and your spirit and your soul and you become more balanced and overall healthier,” Jane revealed.

Aw, thanks Jane, for reminding Healthy Hollywood why I love yoga so much and intend to do it for the rest of my life. Hopefully yoga will keep me young in mind and body.
