Healthy Hollywood: Get Movin’ Monday – Supermodel Emme’s Plus-Size Plan For Living!

Healthy Hollywood meets a lot of motivational people in the wellness world. But, plus-size supermodel/TV personality Emme is definitely in the top five. She’s incredibly inspirational. Her positive attitude is absolutely infectious.

I have done a lot of stories with Emme in the past, but it’s been a few years since I’ve seen her. She still greeted with me a giant hug and a kiss at the recent Healthy Brand New Product Showcase in New York City.

Undeniably fashion’s first plus-size supermodel, Emme had a tough go five or so years ago. She was diagnosed with cancer and also divorced her longtime husband and father of her daughter. Besides medical treatment, Emme took a holistic approach to healing.

“I knew early on in that process I figured out what I am putting in my body better be good, so all the products I consume are natural and good for your body,” she reveals to Healthy Hollywood.

Cancer-free since November 2007, Emme hasn’t slowed down. She has a new clothing line in the works, a TV show – plus she’s a motivator for women everywhere to love their body – curves and all. “It’s not about being a size 2. It’s about being you. It’s about being mindful in the present moment. Instead of thinking what you should be, what you could do, honor what you are. It’s really simple, but it’s the hardest thing.”

You can say that again, loving yourself can be so darn tough!

Emme, who is excited to celebrate her upcoming 50th birthday, added, “50 is so hot! It’s rocking. I am really feeling good and it’s not BS, I’m feeling good.”

She stays healthy by eating closest to the earth and also exercising consistently. “If you’re going to be a gym rat because everyone else is, you’re going to fail. If you’re not passionate about your workout it will not work. I’m completely insanely passionate about the water. I love to swim with such happiness. I swim ¾ to a mile at a pop. I have to, if I don’t work out I’m like a little kid and I get a timeout. I have curves and everything still, but that’s how I have always been,” adds Emme.

Perhaps, it’s her live by mantra that could help us all to be a little happier today. “”I’m so lucky what I have gone through in life and you get to a point and you say there’s a lot to be grateful for. So, I’m on a journey of gratitude!”

Try to keep a journal and every night before you go to bed write down a list of at least 3 things you’re grateful for in life. It might make your tomorrow a little sunnier.
