Healthy Hollywood: Wellness Wednesday – Inhale & Relax!

Modern life can be hectic and overwhelming. It’s important to pause and relax (if only for a moment). After all, too much stress is one of the leading causes of premature aging. And, who needs to age faster than need be?

A simple way to de-stress is with an aromatic treatment of concentrated essential oils that promote physical, mental and spiritual well-being. “People have been using aromatherapy for thousands of years, since it was first discovered that [certain] scents have a powerful effect on our mood, memories and state of mind, when they enter our bloodstream through breathing or through our skin,” reveals natural skin care guru, Tata Harper.

Celebrities, such as the world’s most beautiful woman, Gwyneth Paltrow and the ageless Julianne Moore, have both discovered the beauty of Tata’s 100% natural and nontoxic products. Besides skincare, the Vermont-based Harper has created 3 super potent aromatherapy treatments. “Some of the most commonly known essences we use are Lavender for its soothing and calming benefits – we use it in our Bedtime Treatment. Roman Chamomile is in our Irritability Treatment. It helps comfort and calm down moods. Rose Otto is in our Stress Treatment, which gives it a lovely perfume scent and really helps alleviate stress.”

Aromatherapy is a powerful, natural healing treatment. As scent is inhaled it travels through the nose and triggers feel-good chemicals in the brain. “I suggest using aromatherapy whenever you can, to help stay on top of the intense demands of modern daily life,” states Tata, who adds, “The best way to apply it for the most benefit is to apply the aromatherapy oil to your pulse points, especially on your inner wrists, neck, even inner elbow or temples. That will give you the long-term kick, since those are areas of intense blood flow. To get immediate benefits, rub some oil between your palms and then inhale deeply four to eight times.”

Aw, the sweet smell of relaxation! Healthy Hollywood believes all of us could benefit from less stress and add a whiff of wellness to our lives.
