Heather Locklear Cleared In Hit-And-Run Case

Heather Locklear is off the hook for an April hit-and-run incident in Ventura County, Calif., authorities confirmed to Access Hollywood.

“Insufficient evidence exists to establish who the driver of the vehicle was at the time of the collision. As a result, no criminal charges will be filed,” Ventura District Attorney Gregory D. Totten Totten said in a statement to Access, stating that the car in question was however registered to Heather and her ex-husband, Richie Sambora.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the former “Melrose Place” star was arrested for a 4 AM hit-and-run accident in April at an intersection near her Westlake Village gated community.

According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s department, her black BMW matched debris from a knocked-over “No Parking” sign through an investigation. No further details were available at the time.

The star was given a citation but not booked, the Ventura County Sheriff’s department told Access at the time.

The crash wasn’t her first driving-related legal run in — in 2008, the actress was charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence of prescription drugs following a September 28 arrest.

That charge was dropped when she pleaded guilty to a lesser offense, a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving.
