Heather Mills’ Former Publicist Gets Candid About Split

In an abrupt and surprising move, Heather Mills’ very supportive publicist of four years, Michele Elyzabeth, resigned yesterday. Today, Elyzabeth revealed to Access Hollywood’s Tony Potts why she left.

So what happened?

“I quit, I just quit,” she told Tony. “I couldn’t take it any more.”

Elyzabeth is angry and ready to go on the record after the sudden split.

“She’s a little maniac, that’s what she is,” Elyzabeth said.

In her first interview since the bitter split, Michele told Access the former Mrs. McCartney became impossible to deal with since her divorce with Paul became final in March, which left Mills nearly $50 million richer.

“You know I worked for free because she told me she had no money,” Elyzabeth said. “She owes me three years of work.”

How much does that boil down to?

“Over $100,000 at the rate I was billing her,” she said.

But the final straw occurred on Wednesday when Heather allegedly called Elyzabeth “stupid” during a heated argument.

“I called her and I said, ‘Listen, I just received this rumor and she said, ‘Now listen to me,’ and ‘You shut up!’ I said, ‘What is that all about?’” Elyzabeth recounted. “She said, ‘You are so stupid. How can you believe you know all these rumors?’ I said, ‘Simple, we don’t talk any more.’ She said ‘Shut up,’ and ‘I never ever want to talk to you again,’ and I said ‘Good,’ click.”

In a statement released to Access, Heather said, “What Michele said is not true or forthright and does not reflect what is already on the record from Michele.”

Though some may question Elyzabeth’s motives for speaking out, she is not worried.

“All my friends in media know how devoted I was to her, so I’m not concerned about that,” she said. “People can think what they want. I don’t really care. I’m not bitter. I’m happy it’s over.”

In a previous interview, Mills told Billy Bush she was “very close” to suicide following the press attention that surrounded her split with Paul McCartney, but not according to Elyzabeth.

“I thought, ‘Why are you saying this?’” Elyzabeth said. “She calculates way too much to do that. She would never commit suicide. She didn’t commit suicide when she lost her leg.”
