Henry Cavill says he doesn’t think the Man of Steel will be fighting injustice alongside DC Comics’ most powerful heroes on the big screen just yet.
“Justice League could be great if done correctly,” Henry told ABC News, when asked about rumored plans for a Justice League movie. “It’s a very tough one to do because the DC comic heroes are all god-like in their power. So in this real world universe, real-world setting we’re telling our story in, it’s going to be tough to achieve that.”
The 30-year-old actor said keeping the gravity and tone set by Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy (as well as the Nolan-produced “Man of Steel”) while incorporating a handful of new heroes will take a lot of forethought and planning, in order to maintain the theme and integrity that’s recently been set for DC.
In other words, “Justice League” won’t be hitting the big screen anytime soon.
“It has to be done very delicately with a lot of thought. So, it won’t be right away,” Henry said. “I hope it’s not, anyway.
“It may take some time of building up other movies and other characters and introducing them together in one way or another,” he added.
“Man of Steel” has grossed nearly $400 million globally since its June release.
