Hilary Duff & Mike Comrie Separate

Hilary Duff and husband Mike Comrie are going their separate ways.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2010, “have mutually decided [upon] an amicable separation,” Hilary’s rep told Access Hollywood.

“They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other’s lives. They are dedicated to loving and parenting their amazing son, and ask for privacy at this time,” the rep added.

Following the split announcement, the actress/singer took to Twitter to thank fans for their support, and revealed she and Mike were together as news of their separation broke.

“Mike and I are sitting here, we are so appreciative for all of your kindness& well wishes,” she wrote. “Not an easy day but we’re getting thru it together.”

Hilary, 26, and former NHL player Mike, 33, wed in Santa Barbara. They welcomed son Luca Cruz in March 2012.

Just one year ago, Hilary told Access Hollywood Live’s Kit Hoover and Billy Bush that she and Mike were planning on having more children together.

“Mike and I are literally so obsessed with Luca. We’re like, ‘He’s perfect — we should just [have] one and [be] done,’” she said during the December 2012 interview. “But I think once your baby starts getting older, you miss that baby phase and you go in for round two.

“I think maybe [we’ll have another baby] when [Luca] is 2 or 3,” she added.
