Hollywood Gears Up For Emmys

Conan O?Brien is rehearsing in Hollywood. The party planners are on high alert. But most importantly, the Emmy votes have been tallied.

Just five days to go until the 58th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards hit Hollywood and preparations are in full swing in our latest Verizon Wireless Access V CAST Emmy Moment.

?There are thousands of ballots that have been returned from the members of the TV academy this year,? said Ernst & Young?s Andy Sale.

?We?re in the last stages of the triple checking,? his colleague John Nendick added.

By hand and by computer, the ballots are being counted, recounted and counted again to make sure the real winner is announced on Emmy night.

And, of course, after the show comes the parties.

Governor?s Ball event producer Cheryl Cecchetto gave Access a peak at this year?s party theme ? Moonlight & Romance.

Over 3,000 guests will sit beneath oak trees and chandeliers as they dine on avocado roasted shrimp, salad and filet mignon.

But that?s not the only ticket in town.

Pink will perform at TV Guide?s post-Emmy blowout, happening at Hollywood?s newest hot spot Social. Closing the night will be the band Battle of the Network Stars, and while they?re TV stars by day, they rock by night.

?Desperate Housewives? hunk James Denton plays guitar. Hugh Laurie of ?House? rocks the keyboard. ?Alias? star Greg Grunberg on drums and Bonnie Summerville (?NYPD Blue?; ?The O.C.?) sings along with Bob Guiney from ?The Bachelor.?

And before Sunday?s Emmy awards on NBC, tune in at 7 p.m. for the 2006 Emmy Red Carpet Special, hosted by Access Hollywood?s Nancy O?Dell and Billy Bush.
