‘Homeland’ Season 5 To Be Based In Germany

For “Homeland” Season 5, Carrie Mathison is taking the war on terror to Germany!

Showtime announced production on the upcoming season of the hit series will take place on location in Berlin, Germany, beginning in early June.

In doing so, it will “become the first American television series to shoot a full season entirely in Germany,” Showtime announced on Monday.

As for the plot, as has been previously announced, Season 5 will pick up two years after Carrie (Claire Danes) wrapped up her ill-fated tenure as the CIA station chief in Islamabad.

However, much like Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin) did at the end of Season 3, Carrie has left the CIA and is now working for a private security firm.

The 12-episode Season 5 will premiere this fall on Showtime.
