Hugh Jackman ‘Officially’ Joins X-Men: Days Of Future Past

It’s official – Wolverine is returning!

“I would officially like to welcome @RealHughJackman to the cast of #Xmen Days of Future Past. Very excited! More to come…” director Bryan Singer Tweeted late Tuesday night.

The actor’s casting in the movie comes on the heels of plenty of speculation that he would reprise his beloved mutant role.

“I have been talking to Brian about doing something in this [film],” Hugh told Access earlier this month.

This will be the seventh time the actor has played the mutant on the big screen, including the upcoming “The Wolverine,” a sequel to his 2009 spin-off movie, “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.”

Hugh joins Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen in the movie, who will reprise their roles as the older versions of Professor X and Magneto, respectively.

“X-Men: Days Of Future Past” is slated to hit theaters in summer 2014.
