‘Idol’ Number 9 Line Dances Her Way On Out

“American Idol” opened with the contestants line dancing to Dolly Parton’s “9 To 5,” and one contestant stepped her way off the stage permanently during Wednesday night’s elimination broadcast.

Before host Ryan Seacrest was able to send anyone home, however, he sent contenders Michael Johns, David Archuleta and Carly Smithson to safety.

Ryan also brought David Cook to center stage and asked “Idol’s” resident rocker to explain exactly what happened regarding reports that he went to the hospital following yesterday’s taping.

“The whole thing kind of got blown out of proportion,” David explained. “I have high blood pressure, it spiked… so they took me as a precaution.”

His blood pressure appeared fine on Tuesday though, as David headed to the safe seats soon thereafter.

But Ryan gave bad news to pint-sized singer Ramiele Malubay and country cutie Kristy Lee Cook, who both found seats in the bottom three.

And then there were three left: Syesha Mercado, Brooke White and Jason Castro.

Ryan then sent Brooke to the bottom three as a dumb founded Jason walked over to the safe side to join Syesha.

Judge Randy Jackson predicted Ramiele would go, while Simon Cowell suggested it would be either Ramiele or Kristy Lee.

After Brooke headed to safety, Ryan revealed that Ramiele was indeed heading home tonight. The pint-sized singer broke into tears upon learning the news of the end of her “Idol” journey.
