‘Idol’s’ Pia Toscano Finally Gets A Record Deal; Debut Single Due Next Week

Her elimination on Season 10 of “American Idol” was a shocker to fans across the country, but Pia Toscano has finally landed herself a record deal.

The New York-bred singer has signed with Interscope Records, the home of “Idol” mentor, Jimmy Iovine.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Interscope and 19 Recordings family,” Pia said in a statement. “[Interscope Geffen A&M Chairman] Jimmy Iovine was an amazing mentor during my time on ‘Idol’ and I’m looking forward to working with him and everyone at Interscope Records and 19 Recordings. This is a dream come true.”

Pia will release her debut single, “This Time,” next week — on July 12. The song will also become a part of the American Idols Live 2011 tour.

The tour begins on Thursday in Salt Lake City, Utah, and crosses the country before wrapping up on September 10 in Rochester, N.Y.
