Illness Forces John Mayer To Cancel European Tour

John Mayer fought through a slew of headline scandals to keep on rockin’. However, now it appears he’s finally met his match – an illness.

An undisclosed ailment has forced the “Battle Studies” singer to cancel the remainder of his European tour, it was announced on his Web site.

“After a sold-out performance in Copenhagen, John Mayer was forced to cancel his second show there on 5/31 due to illness. Regrettably, the illness has caused his remaining European shows scheduled through this week to be canceled as well (Amsterdam, Madrid and Manchester),” the statement posted on Tuesday explained.

There were no further details on the singer’s illness, however, he is expected to be just fine.

“Mayer is returning home to the States and a full recovery is expected under a doctor’s supervision,” the statement on his site continued.

The pop rocker has been on an image revival mission since his February interview in Playboy magazine, in which he used the N-word and also referred to ex-girlfriend Jessica Simpson as “sexual napalm.”
