Is Demi Lovato Leaving The X Factor?

If Demi Lovato is leaving “The X Factor,” it’s news to the people behind the Fox reality show.

As reports of Demi’s departure surfaced on Wednesday, a source told Access Hollywood that while discussions have begun surrounding next season, no official decisions had been made yet as to who will – or won’t – be sitting at the judges’ table.

“No one from ‘X Factor’ has discussed next year with Demi, but there are a lot of other conversations happening about new ideas and what the show should be like,” the source explained. “This week, everyone’s focus is on the current finalists.”

Demi – currently in her second season as a judge on the show – is set to kick off her “Neon Lights Tour” in February 2014, alongside “X Factor” alums Fifth Harmony, and former “X Factor UK” winners Little Mix, as well as “X Factor UK” judge Cher Lloyd.

While Demi’s involvement is up in the air, it appears there will definitely be changes to the reality competition moving forward.

“There are a lot of conversations happening at the moment with Fox… ‘The X Factor’ going forward would be new and different,” the source also told Access.

Earlier this week, in a conference call with reporters, Simon Cowell also addressed likely changes coming to the show – including, perhaps, his own role.

“We have to be more different next year than we were this year,” Simon said. “So, we’re in the middle of a presentation to Fox to say this is what we think the show should look like, this is what we think the fans would like. And, yes, my role could change on that show. But, I can’t say much more than that.”

The “X Factor” Season 3 finale kicks off Wednesday night on Fox, with the three finalists — Alex & Sierra, Jeff Gutt and Carlito Olivero vying for the crown.
