Isaiah Washington A No-Show For ‘Grey’s’ SAG Win

Once again, the cast of “Grey’s Anatomy” has won an award for its work. But the man who caused so much
controversy the last time there was an award wasn’t around this time.

Isaiah Washington wasn’t among those who accepted the Screen Actors Guild award for best drama series ensemble. Washington is in therapy these days for using an anti-gay slur against co-star T.R. Knight.

In accepting an acting award last night, Chandra Wilson drew laughter from the audience when she said the honor was “about those ten cast members sitting over there, and the other one in rehab.”

It was backstage at the Golden Globes award two weeks ago that Washington denied that he called Knight an anti-gay slur during an on-set beef with co-star Patrick Dempsey.

Last week, Washington apologized for the remark and announced he was entering therapy. And this time, there were no backstage fireworks with
reporters — mainly because the cast didn’t speak to reporters at the SAG Awards.
