James Franco Explains Semi-Naked Instagram Pics

When it comes to James Franco almost exposing himself via Instagram, the actor says he’s just enjoying himself.

“To me, it’s just a fun thing. It’s something I don’t put a ton of thought into,” James said of recent Instagram antics on “The Late Show With David Letterman” on Thursday.

“But it gets a lot of attention. I have a lot of followers on Instagram,” he told Dave.

Dave showed the audience James’ recent headline-making shot, where his hand is covering his junk while his pulls down his underwear, something the actor defended.

“It’s not like I’m, like, putting that on billboards,” he explained. “Ostensibly, Instagram is for my fans. But, you know, now all the bloggers are following me on there, so they’ll just take and use my images for whatever they want.”

Dave grimaced while looking at James’ semi-nude shot, which he posted and then deleted.

“I didn’t ask you to look at it,” he joked with Dave. “It’s what the people want. If you don’t want to see it, don’t follow me. Don’t follow me on Instagram!”

James’ brother, Dave Franco, told Conan O’Brien this week that his brother’ online antics are tame.

“Compared to some of the other weird things he’s doing this seems like kind of a refined act, you know? He’s reeling it in a little!” Dave said to Conan.
