James McAvoy To Become A Father

Sexy Scotsman James McAvoy is lining up his next role – as a real life father.

A rep for the star of films including “Wanted,” opposite Angelina Jolie, “Atonement” and “The Last King of Scotland,” confirmed James and his wife, British actress Anne-Marie Duff, are expecting.

“We are happy to confirm that James McAvoy and Anne-Marie Duff are expecting their first child,” rep Rupert Fowler said in a statement, according to British news agency the Press Association. “We have no further comment or information at this time.”

James, 30, and Anne-Marie, 39, married in October 2006 after meeting on the set of “Shameless,” a U.K. television show.

In the run up to the birth of his first child, James has a host of film projects in the works including the Robert Redford directed thriller, “The Conspirator,” also starring Robin Wright Peen, Justin Long and Tom Wilkinson, which is due out later this year.

He is also voicing the role of Gnomeo in “Gnomeo and Juliet,” an animated reworking of the Shakespeare classic, “Romeo and Juliet.” Emily Blunt stars as Juliet.
