On Tuesday, a Spears family rep released a statement that Maddie had regained consciousness and begun talking. According to the statement, the 8-year-old had crashed an off-road vehicle at her home in Kentwood, La., two days earlier.

Jamie Lynn's sister, Britney Spears, chimed in on social media to share gratitude for her niece's good prognosis.

"So grateful that Maddie was able to go home today," she tweeted on Friday, calling the youngster's recovery "a miracle."

Britney went on to acknowledge those who shared their love and support throughout the difficult ordeal.

"My family appreciates it more than you will ever know," she added.
