Dino De Laurentiis is updating one of his old classics.
He says he’s creating a new franchise with “Barbarella.” He produced the 1968 original with Jane Fonda.
De Laurentiis is quick to say the new film is “not a remake of ‘Barbarella”’ but “a completely new ‘Barbarella.”’ He says it will have “love, sex, adventure.”
He says the script’s being worked on now. No one’s been selected to play the new Barbarella.
Meantime, De Laurentiis’ new movie, “Hannibal Rising” will be in theaters February ninth. It’s the early story of Hannibal Lechter, explaining why he does what he does and why he eats what he does.
