Jane Fonda To ‘Feel The Burn’ At 72 On World Fitness Day

Jane Fonda might be 72 but the screen legend and ‘70’s workout queen is ready to dust off her leg warmers and leotard for World Fitness Day.

According to People, Jane – who has already been a huge fitness success with her videos that made viewers “feel the burn” – will host the first-ever World Fitness Day in Atlanta’s Georgia Dome on May 1.

She explained that she agreed to host the event to encourage the “the fun and value of exercise. It can be a determining factor in the quality of your life and it’s never too late to start.”

In addition to Jane, up to 3,000 people will also have the opportunity to work out with fitness gurus Richard Simmons and Billy Blanks.

Jane explained to the mag that the event is, “a nationwide call for fun and fitness,” no matter what your age is.

“I am 72 years old,” she said. “I’ve had hip replacement and a recent knee replacement and I am interested in bringing boomers and seniors like me into the exercise world because I know it will enhance their lives.”

World Fitness Day will raise money and awareness for the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention, which the actress founded in 1995.
