Janet Jackson & Former Child Stars Offer Condolences Following Gary Coleman’s Death

A host of stars have shared their condolences following the death of former “Diff’rent Strokes” star, Gary Coleman.

Janet Jackson, who was a guest star on the ‘80s television series, was saddened by the news, and shared her emotions on Twitter.

“I’m at a loss for words upon learning of Gary Coleman’s passing. I want to remember him as the fun, playful, adorable and affectionate man he was,” she wrote. “He has left a lasting legacy. I know he is finally at peace.”

What is believed to be Todd Bridges’ Twitter account, had the message, “Today is not such a good day I will get back to you guys later” on Friday. Todd starred as Gary’s brother on the series about two inner city orphans adopted by a rich family.

“I am deeply saddened by Gary’s death. May God give him peace,” Todd said in a statement to Access Hollywood on Saturday.

A host of former child actors also shared their sadness at Gary’s death, at the age of 42 after suffering an intracranial hemorrhage, including Alyssa Milano (“Who’s The Boss”) and Melissa Joan Hart (“Sabrina The Teenage Witch”).

“Rest in peace, Gary Coleman,” Alyssa Tweeted, while Melissa wrote, “RIP Gary Coleman!”

John Stamos (“Full House”) wrote “mamas, don’t let your babies grow up to be…actors. r.i.p. gary.”

“Scrubs’” Donald Faison Tweeted lyrics to the “Diff’rent Strokes” theme in memory of Gary.

“Now the world don’t move… To the beat of just one drum… What might be right for you… May not be right for some,” he wrote.

“Modern Family’s” Eric Stonestreet also recalled memories of the show, writing “Arnold and Abraham the goldfish together again. RIP Gary Coleman.”

Paula Abdul wrote “I am so sorry to hear the sad news about Gary Coleman. my heartfelt condolences go out to his entire family” and Robin Leach Tweeted, “Terribly sad news that 41 year-old Gary Coleman has just died after being injured in a fall at his Utah home.”

“House’s” Olivia Wilde Tweeted “Poor Gary Coleman. Hope it was painless. RIP,” and tennis star Serena Williams wrote, “My heart goes out to Gary Coleman’s FAMILY.”

Reality TV stars were also moved by Gary’s passing.

Kim Kardashian Tweeted, “Oh wow Gary Coleman passed away! My prayers go out to his family,” while “Hills” star Audrina Patridge wrote, “RIP gary coleman 🙁 xo.”
