Janet Jackson: Marriage Possible ‘If It’s God’s Will’

Janet Jackson says she is open to the idea of getting married again and that she’s putting her relationship future in the hands of a higher power – or, in five years, she jokingly told Access Hollywood she might take director Tyler Perry’s hand in marriage!

Access Hollywood caught up with Janet and Tyler at the junket for “Why Did I Get Married Too?” on Tuesday morning, where Janet explained her approach to future trips down the aisle.

“If it’s God’s will,” Janet told Access when asked if she would ever marry again.

“That’s a nice way of saying, ‘Nope!’” Tyler joked.

“No, really, truly, if it is God’s will, if it’s in my cards, then yeah, it’s going to happen,” Janet, who previously dated music producer Jermaine Dupri and was married to Rene Elizondo, explained.

When Access joked that maybe Janet and longtime bachelor Tyler should consider matrimony if they’re both still single in 10 years, the duo didn’t say no.

“That wouldn’t be too bad,” Tyler said. “Ten years, we gotta wait that long?”

“Five?” Janet offered, adding, “[But,] you don’t want to change the diapers.”

“We’re rich, we can have people change diapers for us,” Tyler joked.

On Monday night, Janet walked the red carpet at the “Why Did I Get Married Too?” New York premiere with sister Rebbie by her side, where the actress/singer told Access that working through the pain of Michael’s death in her emotionally charged scenes helped her heal.

“There were moments where it definitely came out,” Janet, who found out about her brother’s sudden death while filming the dramedy, explained. “Venting in that way, very therapeutic.”

“Why Did I Get Married Too?” opens in theaters on April 2.
