January Jones On ‘Mad Men’ Ending: I’m In ‘Total Denial’

Like most “Mad Men” fans, series star January Jones is also having trouble accepting the fact that the AMC drama is entering its final season.

At the Season 7 premiere in Hollywood on Wednesday night, the actress told Access Hollywood it hasn’t really sunk in that the show is coming to a close in 2015.

“No, I’m in total denial,” January (who plays Betty Draper on the show) told Access, when asked if she’s realized “Mad Men” is nearly over. “I’ll do that later.

“I’m like Scarlet O’Hara,” she added. “I’ll think about it tomorrow — or some other time!”

After seven seasons of working with a fantastically talented (and critically acclaimed) cast, January reflected on which of her co-stars she’s learned from the most.

“Probably Jon Hamm. I think that we lean on each other a lot, and in that way I learned a lot about myself and my craft, and just being in a situation like a TV show when you’re moving so fast and doing so much work in so little time — it’s sort of an education that you can’t compare to anything else,” she said of Jon, who plays Don Draper, her character’s on-screen ex-husband on the drama. “It just has so much value in that.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the final season of “Mad Men” is being split into two parts.

The first half of Season 7, called “The Beginning,” premieres Sunday, April 13 at 10/9c on AMC. The second, dubbed, “The End of an Era,” will premiere next year.
