Jared Leto ‘Borrows’ Oscars Luncheon Look From Matthew McConaughey

Matthew McConaughey and his “Dallas Buyers Club” co-star Jared Leto are going for the gold this awards season — literally. Both men have turned up at events in similar metallic-colored black tie jackets.

In early January, it was Matthew who hit the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala in a sparkly gold jacket from Saint Laurent, and on Tuesday, it was Jared’s turn.

“There are some key differences,” Jared noted when Access Hollywood guest correspondent, Fandango’s Dave Karger, brought up the co-stars’ similar fashion flare, at the 2014 Academy Awards Nominee Luncheon.

“I think this is a shawl lapel. This is what I’ve learned,” Jared explained of how his jacket differed from Matthew’s.

Jared also spiced up his jacket, which was also Saint Laurent, with purple socks and sparkly black loafers from Louis Leeman, and a few other items.

“We have different colored shirts and no bow tie,” Jared said (Matthew wore the bow tie in Palm Springs).

“So you know. He loaned me the jacket, what am I gonna say? I changed the lapel,” Jared joked. “I couldn’t find a good jacket.”

And Matthew gave his co-star and fellow Oscar nominee praise for the look.

“He can continue that sparkle in his shoes. I’m gonna stick with these leathers. But I did like his socks,” Matthew told Dave.
