Jason Biggs Defends Malaysia Airlines Joke Tweet; Calls Critics 'Losers'

Jason Biggs is defending a polarizing Tweet about the Malaysia Airlines plane that crashed on Thursday.

"Anyone wanna buy my Malaysian Airlines frequent flier miles?" the "Orange Is the New Black" star wrote, which caused a flurry of responses – both negative and positive – from others on Twitter.

Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 was carrying 280 passengers and 15 crew members in a flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, when it crashed in eastern Ukraine near the Russian border, and area riddled with violence from pro-Russian separatists and Ukrainian forces. There are no known survivors from the flight.

Some of Jason's followers wrote responses like "too soon," "uncool bro," and "not funny," while others supported the actor, Tweeting, "humor trumps tragedy," and "lighten up people. Find some humor in tragedy."

The 36-year-old "American Pie" alum went on to defend his joke and even went after his critics.

"Hey all you 'too soon' a**holes- it's a f***ing joke. You don't have to think it's funny, or even be on my twitter page at all," he wrote. "The idea that I wouldnt have any empathy 4 the victims or their families because I make a joke is absolutely ridiculous. U know that, right?"
