It’s official: Michelle Obama is the first lady of American fashion, appearing on the cover of the March issue of Vogue.
Every first lady since Lou Hoover — save Bess Truman — has been featured in the high-fashion magazine, but Mrs. Obama is only the second to grace the cover. She appears wearing a magenta silk sheath dress by Jason Wu, who also designed her inaugural gown.

Aretha Franklin’s Inauguation Hat May Head For Smithsonian
The Smithsonian Museum wants Aretha Franklin’s Inauguration Day hat. The Queen of Soul’s big-bowed headgear has been a hot property since the legendary singer belted “My Country Tis Of Thee” at Barack Obama’s presidential inauguration on January 20, with the Los Angeles Times reporting that the hat’s designer, Luke Song, has been overwhelmed with demand for the $179 item. (Aretha’s custom-made version cost over $500.)
But while the Smithsonian wants the original, Aretha’s not sure if she wants to give it up.
