Jeff Daniels: Dumb & Dumber Sequel Won’t Happen Without Jim Carrey

Jeff Daniels doesn’t believe a “Dumb and Dumber” sequel can happen without his former co-star on board.

“I don’t think there’s a ‘Dumb and Dumber 2’ if Jim Carrey doesn’t do it,” the actor told Access Hollywood at the premiere of his new HBO series, “The Newsroom,” on Wednesday in Los Angeles.

“Right now, Jim doesn’t want to do it, so doesn’t look like it’s happening,” he explained. “I’m disappointed we’re not doing it, but I think the guy that’s really the most disappointed in it is Jim, because he really wanted to do it.”

Adding, “As we stand here today, it’s not happening.”

But does Jeff think he can convince his former co-star to sign on?

“No, Jim makes his own decisions,” Jeff told Access.
