Jenna Dewan-Tatum Weighs In On Whether Channing Is Really Taking A Break From Acting

Channing Tatum recently revealed he plans to take a break from acting next year in order to work on his goal of directing a film of his own.

So, does his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, think the reigning Sexiest Man Alive will follow through with his plan? Access Hollywood caught up the “American Horror Story: Asylum” beauty to get the scoop.

“I think that in his mind he thinks that he’s going to take a break,” she told Access with a laugh, at the Microsoft All Access Holiday Party in Los Angeles on Thursday. “We’ll see if it really actually happens!

“He’s one of those people – he’s just like me –we read something, we get inspired and we’re like, ‘Aaaaugh! But this is such a good role! This is such a good character!’ [and then] we’ve gotta go play it. So, we’ll see. You never know.”

Jenna said that even if Channing does manage to take a breather in 2013, the break won’t translate into more time together for the couple, as their schedules will probably wind up conflicting.

(She is still filming “AHS: Asylum,” and is starring in the upcoming “Witches of East End.”)

“It would be nice [to have more time with him], but I’m working too,” she said of the possible benefits of her husband’s planned “break.” “Watch it be the opposite — like he’ll have time off and have to come visit me everywhere!”

While Channing may be acting in fewer films come next year, audiences won’t immediately notice his absence.

The “21 Jump Street” star already has four films in the pipeline slated for release in 2013, including, Bennet Miller’s “Foxcatcher,” Steven Soderbergh’s medical drama “Side Effects,” “White House Down,” and “G.I. Joe: Retaliation.”
