Jennifer Hudson: From ‘Dreamgirl’ To Box Office ‘Creature’?

From “Idol” castoff to Oscar winner? to a box office “Creature”?

“Dreamgirls” star Jennifer Hudson is in talks to join the all-star cast of the film “Winged Creatures,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The film, directed by Rowan Woods, already stars fellow Oscar winner Forest Whitaker, Oscar nominee Jackie Earle Haley, along with Kate Beckinsale, Guy Pearce and Dakota Fanning.

“Creatures” follows the witnesses to a murder-suicide in a fast-food restaurant as they cope with the aftermath of the incident.

Hudson would reportedly play Whitaker’s daughter. However, her deal is far from a sure thing.

Scheduling could be an issue, as she is currently recording her album in Atlanta for Arista Records, which is set for a fall release. Meanwhile, filming for “Creatures” is slated to begin next week in Los Angeles.

When contacted by Access Hollywood, a rep for Hudson was not immediately available for comment.
