Jennifer Hudson Gets First Award For ‘Dreamgirls’

Jennifer Hudson has won her first award for
“Dreamgirls.”

The National Board of Review named her one of the breakthrough performers of the year.

Clint Eastwood’s look at World War Two from the Japanese point of view was been named best picture. The group’s president calls “Letters From Iwo Jima” a “masterpiece.” Eastwood’s American look at the war “Flags of Our Fathers” also made the board’s list of the top ten movies.

Martin Scorcese was named best director for “The Departed.”

Acting awards went to Forest Whitaker for “The Last King of Scotland” and Helen Mirren for “The Queen.”
