Jennifer Hudson’s Motivation To Get Fit & Whether She’ll Wear A Bikini Like Kirstie Alley

Jennifer Hudson is joining the celebrity-endorsed weight loss fray.

The Oscar and Grammy winner was announced on Thursday as the new spokesperson for Weight Watchers and she explained to Access Hollywood what motivated her to get fit.

“I was never really uncomfortable in the place that I was in, but it was more so like after having my baby and getting my body back, you want new visions for yourself,” she said. “You want to try new things and feel like you again. So I’m like, ‘OK, I really wanna… feel like myself again.’”

Jennifer’s son, David, who was born in August 2009, was one of the main inspirations for why she decided to make the healthy change.

“Also, with the baby I want him to learn good habits and things like that, so that kind of got me motivated into it,” she said. “And then, I want to find good new habits and sources of that, which is Weight Watchers.”

Jennifer confirmed she has already lost some weight and her slimmer figure has allowed her to be a bit of a shopaholic.

“I shop like crazy and now it’s like a race to wear what I bought the previous week – ‘OK, I’m not gonna be able to fit into that next week, so let me wear this now!’” she laughed.

As a result of her new campaign, Jennifer, who is engaged to former VH1 reality star David Otunga, may even have to tweak her walking down the aisle attire.

“The wedding dress and any other dress is a whole ‘nother story,” she continued. “I’ll probably be another… Lord knows how many pounds or inches or dress sizes [I’ll change]. It’s crazy.”

Although the star may be slimming down, she doesn’t plan on pulling a Kirstie Alley (who was previously a paid spokesperson for Jenny Craig) and donning a bikini on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”

“Oh no honey, you ‘bout to make me say something that Weight Watchers don’t want me to say,” Jennifer laughed when Access asked about the potential of suiting up in a two-piece.

“A bikini?” she continued. “No! That’s not gonna happen guys.”
