Jenny McCarthy Closes Autism School

Just days after announcing via Twitter that she and boyfriend Jim Carrey had split up, Jenny McCarthy has revealed she is closing her school for autistic children, Teach2Talk Academy.

“Jenny and her partner at the Academy, Sarah Scheflen, had different visions for the school and made a decision to go their separate ways,” a rep for Jenny said in a statement to Access Hollywood late Thursday night.

The rep said the women will carry on their work related to autism.

“Both intend to continue on in this important mission,” the rep’s statement continued. “Sarah and Jenny really enjoyed their time working at the Academy and feel honored that they were able to provide such high quality early intervention services to so many children with autism and other developmental disabilities.”

While the Academy, which is located in Sherman Oaks, Calif., is being closed, it was not immediately clear if the Teach2Talk company, which sells a series of educational resources online, would also continue.

Jenny has long been an advocate of autism. Her son Evan was diagnosed with autism in 2005.
