Jenny McCarthy Tears Up Remembering Her ‘New Year’s’ Boss Dick Clark

Jenny McCarthy helped co-host “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” in recent years, and on Wednesday, she reacted to the sad news of her boss – Dick Clark’s — passing.

“He was a powerhouse,” Jenny told AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman as she took part in NBC’s press day in Pasadena, Calif.

Recalling her last couple of years on the New Year’s Eve show, Jenny said she loved sharing the stage with the broadcasting legend.

“I loved counting down… I’m so glad I had the opportunity to do that with him,” she said.

Growing emotional, Jenny said she was saddened to think about the prospect of doing this year’s show without Clark.

“It’s making my eyes tear up… He won’t be there. It’s going to be so different,” she said, fighting back tears. “It’s going to be so different this year.”

Jenny said the two had a warm good-bye the last time she saw him.

“I remember my last thing I said to him. He stopped me in the hallway… He just said how much he liked me and I told him how much I loved him like a grandpa, and then I kind of kissed him goodbye,” she said.

“I hope that his family is doing OK, and I send my love to all of them,” she added.
