Jermaine Jackson: 1993 Michael Accuser ‘Said Michael Never Touched Him’

Jermaine Jackson has leveled an accusation of his own at Evan Chandler, the man who accused Michael Jackson of sexually abusing his 13-year-old son in 1993.

“From the ‘93 case — they accused him of just the most horrible things,” Jermaine said at an event at the Magic Johnson AMC Theater in LA on Tuesday, in footage posted to YouTube. “This kid’s father has committed suicide because he just couldn’t take it, and now the kid has come forth and said, Michael never touched him.”

Evan was found dead of an apparent suicide on November 5, after what sources called a “longtime debilitating illness” to ABC News. However, his son has yet to comment publicly on Michael in the wake of the pop star’s death earlier this year and has never spoken publicly about the allegations, despite an online rumor to the contrary in recent months.

Michael was not charged in connection with the 1993 allegation, which was settled out of court.

Jermaine’s remarks came during an inspirational speech describing time he spent with juvenile offenders. He did not cite the source of his information.

“We’re in this world to make a difference,” Jermaine said. “Michael was blessed but… if you’re focused and if you want to do something in life, you have it. Stay away from the bad influence.”
