Jerry Seinfeld’s Hard Sell for Microsoft

Jerry Seinfeld has been reportedly hired to take a bite out of Apple.

The comedian is being paid a whopping $10 million to be a pitchman for Microsoft, which has been battling an image issue, thanks in part to Apple’s “Mac vs. PC” commercials, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The Seinfeld ads, part of the software company’s new reported $300 million advertising campaign, are slated to begin running on September 4, and will feature the funnyman along with Microsoft founder Bill Gates.

Although his eponymous show has been off the air for a decade, Seinfeld, thanks to re-runs, is still a very bankable pitchman who starred in a series of successful American Express ads.

The Wall Street Journal also reports that Chris Rock and Will Farrell are similarly being considered as pitchmen for Microsoft.

A rep for Seinfeld did not return calls for comment from Access Hollywood, while a spokesperson for Microsoft could confirm reports that Jerry would star in ads but said, “stay tuned.”
