Attention “Jersey Shore” fans — we’ve got a “Situation” here.
The cast of “Jersey Shore” is reportedly in the midst of negotiating a deal for a second season of their reality show and MTV wants deals signed by the end of the business day on Monday – or they will reportedly be replaced.
But, if the cast does agree to come back for a second season, it won’t be in Seaside Heights, N.J., a source close to the show told Access Hollywood.
The original “Shore” gang would head to Miami to tape their spin-off, while a new cast of tanned and muscled hopefuls would be back on the boardwalk for a new season in New Jersey.
According to TMZ, the cast is negotiating deals similar to how the cast of “Friends” approached their contracts – where each cast member will paid the same for each episode.
The network reportedly initially offered a $10,000 signing bonus and $5,000 per episode, which the cast rejected. Now, MTV is offering $10,000 an episode for their 12 episode second season
The network has reportedly told the cast that it is prepared to replace anyone who does not take the deal and they are open to mixing new would-be guidos and guidettes with the original members – and that they already have new potential cast members lined up.
MTV has reportedly received thousands of tapes from people want to be the next Snooki or The Situation.
And according to TMZ, Paul “DJ Pauly D” Delvecchio and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino are the two cast members who are negotiating for a new deal the hardest.
