‘Jersey Shore’ Casters Taking The ‘Party Down South’

Doron Ofir Casting wants to make it a “six-pack summer.”

The agency behind MTV’s “Jersey Shore” is launching “Party Down South,” and the agency is searching for 12 young men and women for a new reality show set in the American South.

“It’s time to show the world that the party down South will rise again… Screw sippin’ champagne, let’s make it a six-pack summer!” Ofir said in a statement to Access Hollywood. “Southerners have been workin’ for the man every night and day, trying to make their American dream come true… here’s their chance.”

Would-be stars can show off their Southern pride at PartyDownSouth.com. The agency did not announce the in-development project’s potential network or TV airdate.

While six-packs may be on the agenda, it’s Southern phenomenon “bros icing bros” that might become the new “GTL.” The online trend of people “icing” others by forcing them to take a knee and down a Smirnoff Ice is spreading across the country, as documented on the blog BrosIcingBros.com. But will there be a Southern “Situation?” Stay tuned!
